Hans van Baaren

At twenty-two, a severe, life-threatening illness confronted me with my own mortality and fragility. Beyond the initial shock and medical treatments, a profound inner transformation unfolded; one as essential to my healing as any therapy. This journey led me to the Sri Aurobindo Ashram and Auroville in 1994, where fear, doubt, and limitation gradually gave way to a joyful, steady presence. The Divine Presence is the greatest gift and meaning of life.
I spent four years in intensive training in L’Art du Chi (Méthode Stévanovitch) in southern France, focusing on Tai Ji Quan and Chi under teachers Vlady and Michèle Stévanovitch. My path also includes qigong massage, martial arts, healing arts yoga, and I was a rugby player for the Dutch national team.
For over thirty years I have been teaching the Art of Chi and Kaya Bodha. My goal is to help others increase awareness, release mental and vital conditioning, and overcome physical stiffness. I live in a state of constant relaxation, clarity, and intuition.
True relaxation is a conscious skill and living art.
- Widen one’s self
- Liberate the body from mental and vital preferences
- Open up to new possibilities, to a higher consciousness
- Learn to listen truly
- Cultivate agility, rejuvenate and recover
- Bring us back to center and balance
With openness and warmth,
Hans van Baaren
